Welcome back once again everyone!
If you guys have been listening to our podcast then you know that I have hopped onto the digital comics train. Let me just say that for busy people it is so convenient. Additionally, it saves so much space which I am sorely lacking in. The good news for all of you who may be reading this is that I no longer will get behind and not be able to talk about certain books. Please feel free to ask me about any books I do not pick up and why or to ask about anything I left out.
Alright, so on the Marvel front I have been very happy overall. All New All Different Avengers has been an all-star series so far and I cannot express how excited I am to see Kamala Khan, Miles Morales, and Jane Foster Thor all together in one book. These characters, in my opinion, are the future of Marvel with the possible exception of Jane as Thor. All New Inhumans has been interesting. I like the line-up but the story has not totally picked up yet. I'll keep you posted on how much better or worse it gets. Carnage is not everything that I hoped for. I miss the Axis Carnage that I loved so much. I am not sure how much I enjoy this book but we will see. The new Daredevil, as I said last time, is much different than Mark Waid's take. However, it is interesting, dark, and the last issue was crazy. I can't wait to read this issue. I read the Secret Wars Old Man Logan series and I found it great so I am looking forward to this series. Kanan has been another series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. When I first starting reading the series I had not seen the Rebels TV show but not I have. You get so much more from this series than the television show. I love it. Read it.
Batman and Robin Eternal has been so strong. It did start off slow but has picked up a lot and I have enjoyed it especially in the recent issues. We are learning so much about the history of Batman and Dick Grayson and even Tim Drake. There may be some pretty significant reveals in this series and any Batman fan should be reading this. Deathstroke is top notch and Tony Daniels needs a lot of credit for that. The art is magnificent and the story is told so well. Justice League of America had a one off issues that kind of took me out of it but has gotten back on track and I really enjoy the main story. If you know who Roa is in Kryptonian mythology then read this.
Saga is one the indies on the list this week and I feel like I have said all I need to about this book. It is just unbelievable. The world, the characters, the story; it all just flows so freely and I can't express how beautifully constructed this series is. Beauty is the other indie and it has been fabulous. I can't say that it is a series for everyone but I enjoy it quite a lot.
